A special kind of Learning Technology Systems are the Web-based Instructional Systems which are based on the Internet and WWW technologies in order to provide teaching and learning following the open and distance learning model. The purpose of Web-based Instructional Systems is to support and automate the learning process on a subject field, which concern with a course, a seminar or even a series of lectures.
